My Dad, My Hero

This is a great picture of my dad. Yes, my dad is my hero. To me this picture shows the character of my dad who has been through so much suffering in his life and still enjoys the little things. I took this picture on Thanksgiving.  It's a warm picture, but you can see the scars on his face and hands from the fire that scarred him for life. This same fire almost claimed his life and it was the same fire that he spent 18 months in the hospital recovering from. This picture was taken moments after he was describing the oppression he grew up under. As a child fleeing their house from the troops that were coming. And how he was only a few short months away from being drafted into the German military and being sent to the front lines. My dad became a pastor and a scholar. He is a theologian. His title is Sir Reverend Doctor Daniel A. Kolke. He has written many books, taught many people. My dad today is retired but a very active writer. I am helping him publish some of his works. He also blogs pretty much every day. Sharing his wisdom to those who he ministered to for so many years. He is truly a great man, great father, great leader, a great example. I love my dad and he is my hero.
